About Us

MP Welfare Association for the Blind, Indore (MPWAB) with the sole aim of working for comprehensive rehabilitation of persons with Visual Impairment in M.P. state level (Central part of India). Since its inception in 1961. Organization has developed need based services for the persons with VI in the areas of prevention, early identification, education, counseling rehabilitation, employment, advocacy and many other specialized supportive services. We are honored by patron ship of honorable his Excellency Governor of Madhya Pradesh. With time, MPWAB has matured enough and moved up the value chain. It is contributing immensely in the field of VI within limited resources. Now, the organization is at the juncture where it have to leverage the benefits of the strong foundation had in VI sector to provide equal opportunity, full participation and protection of right and to enable them (VIs) to join the main-stream. This demographic shift is the need of the hour.



Today MPWAB has come up as largest organization of its kind with such wider vision for the cause, in our organization group of beneficiaries equally involve with professionals in developing policy and implementation of various programs.


The organization is committed for promoting compressive rehabilitation of visually challenged persons in particular and persons with all categories of disabilities in General at state level. To prevent preventable blindness and other disabilities. To empower the blind through education and training in becoming self-sufficient through employment or self- employment and thus, empower them with dignity, and become contributory members in the society.


The organization is extending its services with the limited support of state government, national & International funding agencies (time to time) & public donation for free, education, training, lodgging boarding facilities to approximately 175 visually impaired persons. We have a district branch at Dewas, working for visually impaired girls.


Organization has been awarded by ministry of social justice and empowerment govt. of India. With institutional national award for qualitative service in 2004 by hon. President of India.
